Rejuvenate Yourself and Your Space With Our Spring Cleaning Tips
It’s that time of the year again, when the last of the snow has melted and the early birds are chirping; it’s time for that much anticipated “spring cleaning.”
We want our households and offices to look, feel, and smell their best, from the inside to the outside.
Here are some basic tips to help you:
Start in one room, like the kitchen, or the bathroom, or possibly tell your family members to choose a floor and then meet in the middle, where you can all take a break and have a healthy snack.
Declutter and organize your stuff.
Put away winter clothes, winter boots, and clean and maintain all your snow equipment and winter sports equipment. Recycle, or throw out, any old objects and other miscellaneous items that are damaged or no longer work. Donate used items to charity or take them to a local reseller; you may end up earning some extra cash.
Redecorate your space.
Another idea to bring your clan out of the winter blues, is to re-arrange your furniture or pick one room and spruce it up with a new and fresh coat of paint or simply, just add some plants or a nice bouquet of flowers.
Reduce paper.
Sort through bills and other mail that has been piling up. File or shred old tax receipts, documents, and coupons. Consider signing up for paperless bills this will not only limit your clutter, but it will help the environment. This should create some extra space in your drawers.
Don’t ignore the exterior.
A lot of us wait for warmer weather to tidy up outside. It’s like coming out of hibernation. Clean up any garbage and debris, like branches, leaves and salt residue, that old man winter has left behind in your garage, your yard and driveways. Oh… and don’t forget to take down and put away your Christmas lights, and decorations.
Now is a good time to clean and wash all your doors and windows, allowing the spring sunshine to burst right inside. We suggest using a cleaning solution such as CLR to get rid of tough stains, mold and mildew that builds up around your windowsills.
Maintain your vehicle.
You can take your vehicle out for a spin to your local car wash; or wash your wheels in the driveway while you get some sun and fresh air.
Have your pets groomed.
Last, but not least. Pamper your pets and get their coat freshened up for the warmer weather ahead. They need special attention too; after all, they are a big part of our families.
As to not be over whelmed, plan your tasks and delegate some
of your duties to your family members. It takes effort and team work, just like on the commercial cleaning side of things.
An annual spring-cleaning will bring many benefits and will have a positive effect and rejuvenate yourself, your family, your employees, and clients.
